Caramelized Onion

Here it’s my trick for saving time πŸ˜‰ I know it’s better and healthier to do it slowly, but takes nearly one hour and metropolitan life style doesn’t let such amount of time. Anyway i share with you, a cheating video of how it’s traditionally done. Also here is 1 minute chopped & sliced onion Jamie’s Oliver tip

I usually use white onion, but you can also use yellow or brown. I put you a cheating picture of different types of onions.

 

My way:

  1. Cut in fine slices the onion and poached with a touch of salt until it’s translucent.
  2. Add 5 gr – 1tsp of brown sugar and let it dissolve.
  3. Add two drops of balsamic vinegar and let it poach for 2 minutes more.
  4. Always taste it and correct it with sugar if necessary.
